Following his domination of the finish of the preceding Bobbyjo Chase, Willie Mullins doubled his score in the At The Races European Breeders Fund Beginners Chase as Ruby Walsh also brought up a Fairyhouse brace with Vedettariat
With market-leader Fine Theatre (eventually pulled up) failing by some way to come up to expectations, it left Vedettariat with the task of picking up clear pace-setter, Katnap
This was accomplished entering the straight and the former point-to-point and dual hurdles winner was clear before the last on the way to an easy twenty nine length win over the aforementioned Katnap.
Walsh won on Boston Bob thirty five minutes earlier as Mullins supplied the one, two, three in that feature, and the Closutton maestro said: "He (Vedettariat) jumped better today and at least he's paying his way. He looks like one that would be better suited to going for a handicap rather than a novice.
"He works well at home and I think he wants better ground but Ruby thinks he wants it like that, and all three of his wins have been on that ground."
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Fine Theatre, trained by Paul Nolan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be Post Race Normal.
D.N. Russell, rider of Fine Theatre trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and was pulled up.
