A Ballindenisk point-to-point winner in May for owner/breeder Vincent Sheehan, the 4/1 favourite Onefortheditch recorded her first win under Rules in the first division of the Larrigy's Pub Handicap Hurdle.

The daughter of Shirocco, trained by Eamonn Gallagher, got into contention after the second-last and gained a narrow advantage on the run-in to beat Hatfield Hammer and Mist On The Bog by half a length and a neck.

Winning rider Simon Torrens reported: “We said we’d ride her a bit handier today, but I couldn’t go the gallop early so I had to revert to plan B.

“She’s a nice mare that I thought would have won before now. She doesn’t do a lot off the bridle, but she did battle today.

“Two miles and three around here on that sort of ground is sharp enough for her.”
