'Red' on the mark again with Vics Dermot 'Red' McLoughlin trained his second winner, when on his first start on the racecourse proper for the stable, Vics Canvas caused a 20/1 surprise in the concluding Naas Annual Membership INH Flat Race under Mark O'Hare. On his first outing in 156 days, since finishing fourth in a Listowel bumper for Paddy Mooney, Vics Canvas stayed on best to defeat Alderwood, the favourite Raz De Maree and the front-running He's A Delight. McLoughlin remarked: "He's a grand horse. He won a point-to-point and got beaten a short head in another. He just keeps galloping and needs to be fresh. He had a few problems with ulcers. "Mark said to try him in a winners bumper and we'll see how he is after this." Justlite.com, the winning syndicate, are a Dublin-based company that do stage lighting for all of the big concerts.
