The winner, Broughtons Flare (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 22 January 2020 where the gelding finished seventh of eleven, beaten by 8 ½ lengths.
Philip McBride’s explanation that BROUGHTON’S FLARE (IRE) benefitted from a drop in grade from Class 5 to Class 6 was noted.
Following the race, Nicola Currie reported that Confrerie (IRE), placed eighth, was never travelling.
