Leaving the stalls, Heptathlete (IRE), placed fifth, jumped right-handed at the same time as Frow (IRE), placed second, jumped left-handed, causing Sword Exceed (GER), placed seventh, to be crowded for a few strides, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Heptathlete (IRE) or Frow (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out when Ventura Vision (FR), placed third, ridden by Dane O'Neill, interfered with Heptathlete (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Stefano Cherchi.
O’Neill was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed Ventura Vision (FR) to shift marginally left-handed without sufficient correction, causing Heptathlete (IRE) to be briefly caught on heels.
The winner, Ivasecret (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 17 July 2021 where the gelding finished ninth of ten, beaten by 13½ lengths.
The representative of John Butler’s explanation that Ivasecret (IRE) had appreciated the return to an all- weather surface was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Darragh Keenan reported that Sword Exceed (GER), placed seventh, was hampered leaving the stalls and ran too freely.
