He was still quite green and raw but his work at home was nice and he'll progress from that. He was a little bit slow away from the stalls but nothing around me had too much gate speed, so I was able to get him up there and, once I did, I was comfortable the whole way. He quickened up well and he put a nice bit of daylight between himself and the field. I think a mile and two furlongs will be no problem for him and after that we'll see after he steps up. The Stewards interviewed Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Rockview Roman, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Siobhan Rutledge was in breach of R10(3)(b) by hitting her mount unnecessarily after its chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned Siobhan Rutledge on this occasion.
