he’s travelled very well and is rejuvenated since I started coming up here. He’s come with his problems and has taken a lot of sweetening up but he’s turned inside out now. I was cautious about getting one from Clive Cox and thinking can you improve them, but it’s great. Mark was very good on him again and said he was just doing enough in front. Hopefully he’s okay in the morning and I think there is another race in a few weeks.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on leaving the starting stalls involving Cedar Rapids, ridden by S. Foley, Fastman, ridden by D. McMonagle, Fox Leicester, ridden by Julie Burke, Sevenal (GB), ridden by G.F. Carroll, The Bog Bank, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, and Tynamite, ridden by Siobhan Rutledge where it appeared that a number of horses received pressure from their outside. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D
McMonagle stated that his mount jumped slowly and received pressure from his outside. G.F. Carroll stated that his mount was wearing full cup blinkers, jumped a little slowly, got a bump and backed out. Siobhan Rutledge stated that her mount received pressure from her right and she took him back. Julie Burke stated that her mount jumped well and she rode as straight as she could to the marker poles but admitted that she had moved inwards a little. J.J.G. Ryan stated that his mount received pressure from his outside and got carried across as a result. S
Foley stated that his mount jumped well and slightly to the left but anticipated the direction of horses on his outer and ran away from them. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action in relation to any part of Rule 214. They did, however, on an admission in evidence from Julie Burke, consider that she was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to ride in a straight line from her draw position to the marker poles. Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Julie Burke for one raceday. Ms Elaine O'Farrell accompanied J.J.G. Ryan at this enquiry.
