The Starter reported that Golden Sands (IRE) broke out of the stalls and was withdrawn at 1.

Mark Johnston was informed that the colt could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

Paul Midgley was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Alpine Lady (GB), unplaced, ridden by Paul Mulrennan; Young Winston (GB), placed third, ridden by Rowan Scott; Bababobo (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sam James; and Little Emma Loulou (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Ben Robinson.
David Nolan, the rider of Dreadfort (GB), unplaced, was also interviewed, but found not to be involved.
The interference was found to be accidental and caused by the free running Alpine Lady (GB) shifting right-handed whilst racing greenly and briefly crowding a free running Young Winston (GB) onto Bababobo (IRE) which was taken across the running of Little Emma Loulou (GB), resulting in Robinson being checked against the rail.
Approaching 1½ furlongs out Alpine Lady (GB) edged slightly left-handed at the same time as Young Winston (GB) improved to its outside causing the rider of Miss Demeanour (FR), unplaced, to briefly steady his mount to avoid heels but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Tony Hamilton reported that Gorak (FR), unplaced, raced greenly throughout and was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
