He was just lying on the two horses coming to the finish. He was doing it still with plenty in hand and just running around I think a little bit. He was broken down and off for three years but had a lovely run back at Leopardstown. It's great for the owners who are long-time patrons of mine. There are 55 of them over from America for a family reunion and I'm delighted that he's won after the way the week has went. They deserve that after losing Heartbreak City.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Shamar (FR) trained by R. K. Watson, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount raced out of control and was pulled up. C.T. Keane, rider of Dara Tango (FR) trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right close home. The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Bottleofsmoke, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third, Highland Fling, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed second and Dara Tango (FR), ridden by C.T. Keane, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards rated 50-75
