Permission was given for both Noodle Mission (USA) and Ciotog (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for NIKKI’S GIRL (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and be mounted in the chute.
The raceday privilege request in relation to Ciotog (IRE), trained by Mark Loughnane, to wear a red hood to post was late being submitted.
Loughnane was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
Rounding the first bend, a free running Venetian (IRE), unplaced, shifted right-handed, forcing Ciotog (IRE), placed fourth, onto the heels of Princess Niyla (GB), unplaced, causing Ciotog (IRE) to be tightened for room and lose its position, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner Master Of Combat (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ripon on 29 August 2023 where the gelding finished ninth of ten runners, beaten 12½ lengths.
The explanation of Kevin Frost’s representative that the gelding benefitted from a return to the all-weather and its reduced handicap mark was noted.
Master Of Combat (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Smiling Sunflower (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and Kieran Shoemark reported that Noodle Mission (USA), placed fourth, ran too free.
