N.M. Crosse, rider of Miss Langmore trained by Mrs Denise Foster, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to check his mount for a stride in the straight

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final furlong involving Pure Circle, ridden by D

McMonagle, placed second, and Miss Langmore, ridden by N.M. Crosse, placed fourth, where it appeared Pure Circle went left and tightened up Miss Langmore. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, Mr.Crosse stated that he had to check for a stride after being tightened up by Pure Circle . Mr.McGonagle stated that after hitting the front his mount stepped in to its left towards the rail but he felt he was clear of Miss Langmore at the time. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while Pure Circle had caused interference to Miss Langmore he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. The Stewards advised Mr.McGonagle to ride with more awareness in future.
