Sam Ewing, rider of Ebasari, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was struck into rounding the bottom bend
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the bottom bend involving Good As Hell, ridden by Niall Moore, unseated rider, Dutch Schultz (GB), ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, placed first, and Ebasari, ridden by Sam Ewing, pulled up where it appeared Good As Hell stumbled. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned
Sam Ewing stated that he was keeping his racing line when he felt contact from behind. C. Stone-Walsh stated that he did not contribute to the incident. Niall Moore stated that his mount was running keen on approaching the bend and ended up clipping a hell independently. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and were satisfied no further action was warranted
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ebasari, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards rated 0-130
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
