He has plenty of ability but has just taken a bit of working out. Jack gave him a lovely ride and I’d say he’s a young man going places. He’s a horse that probably likes a bit of space, so I told Jack to give himself the option to go wide. He’s a fun, dual-purpose horse and hopefully getting his head in front will give him a bit of confidence.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed H.J. Horgan, rider of Red Trail, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found H.J. Horgan was in breach of R.10.3(i) (time to respond) and considering his clean record in this regard they suspended him for two racedays.
