The Stewards enquired into an incident at the start of this race where it appeared that the rear gates of stall 10, the starting stall of Outside Inside ridden by A.J. Slattery and trained by J.W. Davison, accidentally opened. Evidence was heard from A.J. Slattery, rider, Mr. J.R. Banahan, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter and Mr. P

Barrett, Stalls Handlers' Team Leader. Mr. J.R. Banahan confirmed that following this incident all starting stalls were inspected and found to be in perfect working order. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental in nature and they took no further action

A.J. Slattery, rider of Outside Inside trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of Scales that the rear gates of his stall opened as this race started.

The Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Annabelle Rock, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that D.P. McDonagh was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g), in that he used his whip with excessive frequency. Having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended D.P. McDonagh for 1 raceday.
