I expected him to run really well as his homework had been very good. I thought he was a proper horse,. I bought him in Doncaster off Sam Curling for three grand, Dominic was looking for a horse. I couldn't find what was wrong with him and obviously there is nothing wrong with him. He was maybe a bit sick when he ran in his point-to-points or something. He's from the family of Epatante and is by Doctor Dino so I wouldn't say he stays three miles. He did a piece of work around Tipperary two weeks ago and showed me enough to say he'd be competitive in one of these. He was entitled to be here. He's massive and he was a shell in May. To be fair to his owner Dominic he brought him home and fed him all through the summer. I'm delighted for Dominic and Paula, Dom is a great character and I'm so happy for him. I'm hoarse from roaring. There is no plan, the plan was today as he wanted a runner here. He sent me off to buy a horse and I got one for three grand to run in Leopardstown at Christmas. D.A. Jacob, rider of It's For Me (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was pulled up lame. The IHRB Veterinary Officer subsequently confirmed that the animal had sustained an injury

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, M.M. McDonagh, rider of No Flies On Him, trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was outpaced early and then ran on past tired horses as he felt the leaders had gone too hard and the race fell apart

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of No Flies On Him, ridden by M.M. McDonagh, and trained by E. J. O'Grady. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. M.M. McDonagh stated that his instructions were to jump off mid division and do the best he could. He added that all the classier horses were in front of him and he gave his mount two before turning in and another couple in the home straight. E. J. O'Grady confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He added that his charge has been disappointing since winning a maiden which has worked out poorly. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that No Flies On Him was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given.
