Permission was given for Mister Mcarthur (GB) to be mounted on the track and go to post early, for Mr Gambino (GB) to be mounted in the pre-parade ring, and for Noble Patron (IRE) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries which was removed at the start.

The Starter reported that Hildenley (GB) was very reluctant to load.

Tim Easterby was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

John David Riches was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the final furlong when the winner, King Triton (IRE), ridden by Jack Mitchell, interfered with Motawaajed (IRE), placed second, ridden by Dane O’Neill.

The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of King Triton (IRE), as although Motawaajed (IRE) had been carried off his intended line and had been unintentionally struck twice by Mitchell’s whip, the ground and momentum lost was less than the official distance of ¾ length at the line.

Mitchell was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right without sufficient correction, carrying Motawaajed (IRE) off its intended line, and also that, although unintentionally, he had failed to moderate his whip use whilst in close proximity to Motawaajed (IRE), resulting in him striking the gelding twice on the head.
