Permission was given for Twotwothree (IRE) to go early to post, and permission was given for Broadoak (GB) to wear a hood in the paddock.
The winner, Rooster Cogburn (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ffos Las on 23 January 2023 where the gelding finished sixth, beaten 29 lengths on ground officially described as Soft, Heavy in places.
Peter Bowen’s explanation that the gelding was suited by today’s better ground, officially described as Good and was suited by going right-handed was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Rooster Cogburn (IRE) was routine tested.
The performance of Starvoski (IRE), which finished unplaced, was considered.
Kim Bailey’s representative’s explanation that the ground, officially described as Good, was too quick on this occasion was noted.
