Approximately 2½ furlongs out Caramello (IRE), unplaced, pecked and became unbalanced before shifting sharply right-handed hampering Spirit Of The Age (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference early in the back straight involving Dansemai (GB), unplaced, ridden by Joshua Bryan and Fast Danseuse (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by David Probert.
Bryan was suspended for 7 days for improper riding after he was adjudged to have looked to his inside when Probert was approximately a head down, before then manoeuvring his mount left-handed and riding it into Fast Danseuse (IRE), latterly with his left elbow extended out hampering that runner when forcing Probert off his intended line for a sustained period of time.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner Billy Mcgarry (GB), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
The Stewards noted the explanation given by David Brown that the gelding had appreciated being dropped back down in trip from 1 mile 2 furlongs to 1 mile and ½ a furlong, whilst also benefitting from the application of first time blinkers on this occasion.
Billy Mcgarry (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Joshua Bryan reported that Dansemai (GB), unplaced, was never travelling and David Probert reported that Fast Danseuse (IRE), placed fifth, ran flat.
