Joey Haynes, the rider of Toplight (GB), drawn 12, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.

After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Haynes was suspended for 1 day.

Leaving the stalls Jigs Princess (GB), placed second, lugged right-handed causing Fittleton Ferry (GB), placed fifth, which had been slowly away to be hampered, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Jigs Princess (GB).

Shortly after leaving the stalls, Silver Nemo (IRE), placed fourth, lugged quickly left-handed causing the winner Denzil's Laughing to be crowded for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

Just inside the 5 furlong marker, Silver Nemo (IRE), placed fourth, shifted slightly left-handed causing Fittleton Ferry (GB), placed fifth, which had made rapid headway through along its inside to be checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Silver Nemo (IRE).

Shortly after entering the home straight a weakening Toplight (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed despite its riders best efforts to correct the gelding, causing Fircombe Hall (GB), placed sixth, to be badly hampered against the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 3½ furlongs out when Fircombe Hall (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Callum Rodriguez, interfered with More Than Lucky (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Barry McHugh.

Rodriguez was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear causing McHugh to take a check.

Following the race, Josephine Gordon reported that Silver Nemo (IRE), placed fourth, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
