An enquiry was held to consider interference passing the winning post with a circuit to run involving Contacto (GB), placed second, ridden by Oisin Murphy, Flickering Halo (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Joe Fanning and Hutchence (GB), placed third, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
Murphy was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed when insufficiently clear of a free running Flickering Halo (IRE), which caused Fanning to take a check and in turn make contact with Hutchence (GB), which became unbalanced.
Approaching the final furlong, Contacto (GB), placed second, shifted quickly left-handed away from the whip and bumped Too Bossy For Us (IRE), placed fourth, unbalancing that colt, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Contacto (GB).
Following the race, Amie Waugh reported that Filibustering (GB), placed fifth, was denied a clear run for some distance from approaching 2 furlongs out until near the 1 furlong marker.
