P.T. Enright, rider of Nelson's Point (GB) trained by Robert Tyner, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped the roadway at the stable yard going out on the last circuit
The Stewards interviewed P.K. Donovan, rider of Rippon Lodge, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that P.K. Donovan was in breach of R10(3)(b) by using his whip unnecessarily when his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned P.K. Donovan on this occasion.
