Permission was given for Dubai Warrior (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and for Johnny Drama (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Sangarius (GB), ridden by Ryan Moore and Bangkok (IRE), placed second, ridden by David Probert.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Sangarius (GB)’s placing as, on the balance of probabilities, the Stewards could not be satisfied that the ground and momentum lost by Bangkok (IRE) as a result of the interference was more than the nose by which it was beaten.
The interference was found to be accidental as Sangarius (GB) shifted quickly right-handed moving Bangkok (IRE) slightly off its intended line.
Following the race, Tom Marquand reported that Almodovar (IRE), unplaced, moved poorly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
