The raceday privilege request in relation to Caswell Bay (GB), trained by Evan Williams, was late being submitted.
Williams was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.
Permission was given for Caswell Bay (GB) to go early to post.
The winner, Lanspark (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 17 December 2021, where the gelding was pulled up.
The representative of Colin Tizzard could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form, other than it may have been suited by fewer obstacles.
The performance of Kenyan Cowboy (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Max Kendrick reported that the gelding was never travelling, and the representative of Neil King could offer no further explanation.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing of Kenyan Cowboy (IRE), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Entering the stables bend, the rider of Delgany Monarch (IRE), placed fourth, took a check off the heels of Kenyan Cowboy (IRE), unplaced, due to his gelding running keen but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
