This lad (Hugh Horgan) can ride, he is very strong in a finish too. When you weigh out with him, you have confidence in him. He knows what he is about and he can talk through a race and he has a plan going out. He gives a trainer great confidence, I think. She had a good run over seven two runs back and we had a bad draw the last day. The draw is crucial around here. Great win for the stallion, Poet's Word, as well. It is seemingly his first winner in Ireland. He has a great strike record in England.

J.A. Powell, rider of Tiktok Time, trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost both front shoes in running
H.J. Horgan, rider of Trishuli River, trained by Shane Crawley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered in the first furlong
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Monzoon (GB), trained by Noel C. Kelly, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the first furlong involving Fleetfootsoldier, ridden by C.M Hogan, Indiana Grey, ridden by J. Kearney, What Adaay (GB), ridden by W. Joyce, and Trishuli River, ridden by H.J. Horgan where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J. Kearney stated that he was tight for room on the rail in the first furlong. C.M. Hogan stated that he felt pressure from his right in the first furlong. H.J. Horgan stated that he was hampered in the first furlong after pressure from his outside. W. Joyce stated that he came across from his draw and felt he was just clear enough of the horses on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, S.D. Bowen, rider of Monzoon (GB), trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was flat out from the three furlong pole.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 47-65
