He was the best horse in the race if you go back through his form, I couldn't see him being beaten. The Shadow Lingers won against Johnny Murtagh's horse (Lauroline) the last day and he's a better horse. Deccy was positive, got him out and he stays that seven furlongs well.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Zazir, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, and trained by Denis Gerard Hogan. Evidence was heard from the rider and the authorised representative for the trainer concerned. J.M. Sheridan stated that his instructions were to ride his mount forward and positive but he felt the trip was too sharp and he was flat out from early on. He added that his mount was off the bridle before the turn in and had a slightly awkward head carriage in the closing stages. Phil Heaney, authorised representative for Denis Gerard Hogan confirmed the instructions given and stated that he was happy with the ride but disappointed with how his charge ran. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Zazir was examined and found to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given on this occasion
