The Stewards interviewed R.C. Colgan, rider of Star Official, concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he used his whip excessively and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that R.C. Colgan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and considering the riders record in this regard, suspended him for 2 racedays

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Delta Romeo, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Faron, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C. D. Hayes stated that his mount became unbalanced in places in the straight and was rolling around

D.P. McDonogh stated that his horse was very green and was also rolling about in the straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference was accidental in nature and took no further action.
