That was a very good performance with ten stone. He was very relaxed and Billy said he went through the race lovely. He said that’s as good as he’s felt on a seasonal return. We had a few little things that held us up earlier in the spring and a few weeks ago we were thinking this might come too early for him. The last ten days or so he’s come to himself. Donal (Spring, owner/breeder) is not here as I’d said two weeks ago that he was unlikely to run, so he made plans to go to Italy for the weekend. He might go for the Greenlands and he’s entered for both sprints at Royal Ascot. He obviously won’t go there if it’s lightning fast ground, so the weather will decide. Later on there is the Flying Five and maybe the Champions Day at Ascot.

I'd say he had as much odds of winning today as Munster had of beating the All Blacks!. it’s fantastic to win on the Curragh on the most important weekend in Irish racing. It’s just been a great story with this horse how he has progressed and kept improving. You’re thinking if we got placed it would be a super effort and then the heavens opened about an hour and a half ago which helped us a good bit. I thought he got a superb ride, Billy was just brilliant on him and he had a willing partner. he was very good here the last day a month ago. We thought that was a career best and obviously this is another step in the right direction. He’s the kind of horse you would want to be going into battle with. We were having a quite time of it so to have a horse like him that can be competitive in these races — that’s what we all get up for in the morning.

It's great to have him, we need him. He has a great record at the Curragh and he was good today,. He just seemed to enjoy it, the ears were forward and Billy said he never felt like they were going to get him. He just lengthened and extended the whole way to the line. He didn't have the likes of Art Power to contend with, I suppose. There was no obvious pace maker and maybe it just suited him but you have to have the horse to respond to it and he did. He was very good and for a sprinter he's ultra reliable. To be fair to him he goes on most ground, he does seem to be better when it's heavy or testing. We took the view that if he didn't run here and we waited for the Flying Five there could be a dry spell, we are due a bit of a break in the weather, and then where would you be?. The l'Abbaye has been sort of the plan all year. He ran well there last year and does handle those testing conditions. He might go straight there now but if the ground is on the right side for him in the Flying Five he'll go there.

On the face of it the last day was slightly disappointing but Billy came back in and said put a line through that. He slightly missed the break and they went steady enough for two furlongs. That’s more his thing, a stiffer track. Ground seems to come the same to him but he’s a tough, honest relentless galloper. I’m very fond of horses like him. Donal and Geraldine (Spring) bred him and he’s given them so much enjoyment. He could look at races like the Greenlands and we could travel with him. We might go to Ascot and races like the Flying Five. He ran in the Abbaye last year and we might go there again.

Moss Tucker had a big run in Longchamp where he just missed the break. It was costly obviously but he still ran a very good race,. That's what you get with him, he turns up in any ground and every time. He's very honest, reliable and solid. He's obviously improving as he was beaten in handicaps here in the 90s, running well. Billy said running him over the sharp five at Tipperary meant he was comfortable there today and that probably sharpened him up. You'd like to think he'd have a productive year again next year. He seems very straight-forward. I think he copes with that ground better than most. He did a very fast time at Tipperary, when he was just touched off, on good to firm. He's quite versatile and six is his outer limit. He might be a horse for Dubai in March or if he doesn't go there we'll have a nice time making a plan in listed and group races going forward. He'll turn up in all those good races over five and six and we'll target a Group 1 again later in the year. He'll turn up and he'll try, man or beast, that is a great attribute to have.

After race at Tipperary Wed, 29th Jun, 2022 (1st)
We've asked him to run two quick races before as he is a very relaxed horse and is very tough. He is very likeable, has got better with racing and has a good record at this track with three wins and a second from four starts. Shane (Foley) said he was always holding them and always comfortable. I thought Quarantine Dreams ran with good credit after Ascot, where he was drawn on the wrong side. It was different ground conditions and it is never ideal running two together but the race suited both horses and both connections were independently keen to run. Moss Tucker will have a break now for a little while Quarantine Dreams may run in the Phoenix Sprint and we'll campaign him in conditions' races, Listed and Group 3s and six furlongs would be even better for him.

That's him for the season. He has been busy and has gotten quicker and sharper with racing. He had a good start, he winged the gates and was able to get across. I think that was the winning of it as he controlled it from there. He has a very good attitude, we've asked him a few questions and it is great to finish off the season like that. He is big, tall and angular and will be a nice four year old to have in the sprint handicap division, up to seven furlongs. He handles most ground and is very versatile and straightforward. He is a simple horse as Bill (Lee) says.

After race at Tipperary Fri, 6th Aug, 2021 (1st)
He’s bred and owned by former Ireland rugby international Donal Spring. He’s been very consistent over this distance and a bit further. He’s gained a bit of experience and has got his turn. He’d been running on quicker ground and is a very good mover so we weren’t sure how that would suit. It’s not too soft and he was very comfortable on it. Joey’s 5lb claim is very useful as well. He’ll run in handicaps and I could see him jumping a hurdle down the line as well.
