Billy's Lee's decision to plough a lone furrow on the far side just paid off as Erosandpsyche emerged on top after a three-way photo to the featured Doneraile Handicap at Cork this evening.
The Paddy Twomey-trained gelding stayed on his own from his low draw and was a definite leader passing the furlong pole.
The Ken Condon-trained pair, Harmony Rose Moss Tucker finished off well to join the eventual winner flashing past the line.
There were only two short heads splitting the first three home in the five-furlong contest.
Erosandpsyche was making his third start since joining Twomey and had been in the money on both outings this term.
"I think it is a very good track and we reckoned going the straight line was the best way home. To be fair to Billy, he was brave and it worked,” said Twomey.
"He is a very straightforward horse, had the visor on, has a high cruising speed and has lots of ability. He seemed to enjoy himself.
"He has entries in stakes races and will mix and match between handicaps. Barbara and Mark Dreeling, from Kildare, own him and sent him to me this year. He is a lovely horse to have and I enjoy training him."
It was a double on he card for Billy Lee, who also claimed the opener on Chrismoltisanti
