Permission was given for Yoshimi (IRE) to go early to post.
Approaching 1 ½ furlongs the winner, Redarna (GB), lugged quickly left-handed as its rider pulled his whip through causing the rider of POET’S MAGIC, placed third, to switch off heels, who in turn carried Albegrey (GB), placed fifth, off its intended line.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Redarna (GB).
The winner, Redarna (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 5 August 2023, where the gelding finished ninth of eleven runners beaten 30 ½ lengths.
Dianne Sayer could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Redarna (GB) was routine tested.
