Winged Spur (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
The winner, Paths Of Glory (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Hamilton on 30 August 2019 where the gelding finished tenth of thirteen, beaten by 24¾ lengths on Heavy ground.
The representative of Hugo Palmer’s explanation that Paths Of Glory (GB) had appreciated the better ground, which was officially described as Good, Good to Soft in places on this occasion, was noted.
Paths Of Glory (GB) was routine tested.
Approximately half a furlong out, Prevent (GB), placed sixth, edged slightly left-handed, causing Maiden Voyage (FR), placed seventh, to be tightened for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Prevent (GB).
Following the race, Cieren Fallon reported that Prevent (GB), placed sixth, ran too freely, Kieran Shoemark reported that Never Surrender (IRE), placed eighth, hung left-handed and Hollie Doyle reported that Maiden Voyage (FR), which started second favourite and finished seventh, was denied a clear run.
