An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after possible interference in the final 2 furlongs, when the winner Lava Stream (IRE), ridden by Ben Curtis, appeared to carry Peace Walk (GB), placed second, ridden by Connor Beasley, off its intended line.
The Stewards considered that both horses drifted independently for the larger part of the incident before Lava Stream (IRE) shifted very slightly further right in the final furlong, carrying Peace Walk (GB) marginally off its intended line.
This part of the incident was considered to be of such a minor nature that it had not improved the placing of Lava Stream (IRE).
The interference was found to be accidental as Lava Stream (IRE) lugging right in the testing conditions, with Curtis taking reasonable steps to keep his mount straight.
The Stewards therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
