The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr B.G. Crawford, rider of Lily Du Berlais (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Mr. B. G. Crawford stated that his mount was hanging and he pulled his whip through and also accepted that he was in breach of the whip rules. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. B. G. Crawford was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration the Raceday Stewards cautioned Mr. B.G Crawford on this occasion

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr T. Hamilton, rider of Jetara, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Mr.T. Hamilton accepted he was in breach of R 10. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found him in breach of R 10.3(g)(frequency) and having taken his previous record into account they suspended him for 2 racedays
