Permission was given for West Coast Boy (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post, and for Runaround Sioux (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The Starter reported that West Coast Boy (GB) had refused to enter the stalls and was withdrawn at 5.
47pm.
William Stone was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong, when the winner, Fire Demon (GB), ridden by David Probert interfered with Nemov (GB), placed second, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Fire Demon (GB) as despite drifting left-handed taking Nemov (GB) off its intended line, this caused minimal loss of momentum, and while Nemov (GB) made ground on Fire Demon (GB) in the closing stages, the winner appeared to be holding Nemov (GB) with a winning margin of ½ length.
Probert was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed without timely correction carrying Nemov (GB) slightly off its intended line.
