An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after turning in when Al Reeh (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Luke Morris interfered with Creek Island (IRE), placed eighth, ridden by Andrew Breslin.
Morris was cautioned for careless riding as he manoeuvred right-handed when insufficiently clear of Creek Island (IRE) intimidating the colt off its intended line.
Approaching the final furlong, Bobby Biscuit (USA), placed second, edged right-handed causing the rider of Bollihope (GB), placed sixth, to have to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Bobby Biscuit (USA).
The winner Desert Lion (GB) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Nottingham on 6 August 2019 where the gelding finished last of the eight runners, beaten by 21 ½ lengths.
David Simcock’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from the return to an all-weather surface on this occasion after running on Soft ground last time out, was noted.
Desert Lion (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, David Probert reported that Take It Down Under (GB), which finished last of the ten runners, hung right-handed.
