Coco Royale (GB) wore earplugs throughout the preliminaries which were removed upon arrival at the start, and permission was given for both Dancing In Paris (FR) and Super Superjack (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.

Rounding the first bend, Gooloogong (IRE), unplaced, failed to negotiate the bend causing the gelding to become slightly short of room with Tactician (GB), placed second, on it’s immediate outside, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

An enquiry was held to consider interference on the first bend when Saligo Bay (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Pat Dobbs, interfered with the winner, Dancing In Paris (FR), ridden by David Probert.

Dobbs was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift marginally right-handed causing Probert to have to take a slight check on Dancing In Paris (FR).

An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Dancing In Paris (FR), ridden by David Probert, interfered with Manxman (IRE), placed third, ridden by Robert Havlin.

Probert was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed carrying Manxman (IRE) off its intended line.

Following the race, Rob Hornby reported that Nathanael Greene (GB), unplaced, jumped awkwardly from the stalls.
