Permission was given for Latest Generation (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The Stewards noted that in the final furlong Adam Kirby, the rider of Alexander James (IRE), unplaced, had not ridden his mount to the finish.
Kirby reported that Alexander James (IRE) had no more to give in the closing stages and approaching the final furlong DON’T TELL CLAIRE, unplaced, shifted slightly left as Buxted Too (GB), placed fourth, edged marginally right, causing him to anticipate the gap closing and feel that he had no option but to ease his mount as he could not hold his position.
Kirby added that shortly thereafter Alexander James (IRE) changed its stride and he felt that it was in the best interest of the gelding not to persevere with his ride.
This was confirmed after viewing a recording of the incident and therefore the Stewards found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that King's Knight (IRE), unplaced, was short of room in the straight.
