Permission was given for Legal Attack (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only and for Light Refrain (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Light Refrain (GB) unseated Daniel Tudhope on the way to post and cantered loose briefly.
Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and Doctor at the start, both were deemed fit to race.
The winner, Nastase (GB), appeared to show improved form in this Listed race, compared with its previous run at Haydock on 25 September 2020 where the colt finished fifth of seven runners, beaten by 4¾ lengths in a Class 2 Nursery over 5 furlongs.
The representative of Mick Channon explained that the colt had benefitted for the return to a 6 furlong trip on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Nastase (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of Blackrod (GB), which started second favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Michael Dods’ explanation was noted that Blackrod (GB) was unsuited by the going which was officially described as Soft on this occasion, and in his opinion was particularly testing for the inexperienced colt.
Following the race, Jane Elliott reported that Harmony Lil (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling.
