CROI MO RI showed that he has more strings to his bow than performing on the all-weather at Dundalk, taking this in emphatic fashion on his first venture away from the Co. Louth venue (all five previous starts had come there).

The son of Monashee Mountain asserted from over a furlong out, coming away to account for MY GIRL SOPHIE by three lengths. His trainer, Paul Deegan commented, "I always thought he'd appreciate a bit of give in the ground. He has plenty of speed but he stays well too and he'll now go for the seven furlong colts and geldings Listed Loughbrown Stakes at the Curragh next month."

MY GIRL SOPHIE without the blinkers she'd been equipped with on her last two starts, emerged with credit on her first appearance since September. BOBBY JANE who was the one for money (8s at least early in the day and 7s into 9/2 in the ring) was third on the worst ground she'd ever experienced. The rest were well beaten including ICEMANCOMETH (never travelled in today's heavy ground according to Chris Hayes but post race normal), a second beaten favourite from the Eddie Lynam yard (though Munich was third for the same outfit in the first).
