VALENTINE HILL showed Adrian Maguire's versatility as a trainer as the daughter of Mujadil displayed her liking for this soft surface. A 20/1 chance in the morning she was returned a 12/1 shot from 14s at the track and she did it comfortably enough by two and a half lengths in the hands of Seamie Heffernan.

She came here with a rating of 72, some way behind the market-leader, CARRIBEAN SUNSET (a 93). However when that one didn't put her best foot forward the way was left clear for something else (it was 8/1 bar the twos on favourite, Carribean Sunset in the morning).

SUANTRAI ran okay in first time cheek-pieces on start number two. The Sinndar filly will probably come into her own in handicaps.

MARINELLO, a newcomer, came home well for third. CARRIBEAN SUNSET (5/4 into 4/5 in the ring) failed by some way to match her smart juvenile form. Wayne Lordan reported that AMARANDA hung badly throughout. Emmet McNamara told the stewards that CATCH KALLY dwelt in the stalls and was very slowly away.
