Rowdy (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the bend turning into the home straight on the final circuit involving O’MALLEY (IRE), which was brought down, ridden by Gavin Sheehan, Exmoor Plum (GB), who was brought down, ridden by Rex Dingle, OAKLEY’S WAY (IRE), which fell, ridden by Sam Twiston- Davies, Full Monty (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jonathan Burke and Rowdy (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Stan Sheppard.
The interference was found to be accidental as having improved alongside the weakening Full Monty (IRE), Rowdy (IRE) lugged quickly right-handed towards the rail despite the rider's best efforts, causing the gelding to become unbalanced as a result of making contact with Full Monty (IRE), who had become short of room.
A further result of this was that the hind-quarters of Rowdy (IRE) were thrown into the path of Oakley's Way (IRE), causing Oakley's Way (IRE) to clip heels and fall, bringing down both Exmoor Plum (GB) and O'malley (IRE) and causing Sheehan to be unseated from O'malley (IRE).
Following the race, Harry Cobden reported that Bridie's Beau (IRE), placed second, ran green and David Noonan reported that Golden Moonshake (IRE), unplaced, was hampered by the fall of Oakley's Way (IRE).
