He’s a game horse but at the same time James thinks he only does enough. He sticks his head in front and then half parks. He deserved that and we’ll find something similar for him. James is very good and it’s amazing for the size of him that he keeps his weight down. He said he’s actually better than he was last year with the weight. He’s getting more rides which keeps him going. He rides very well and has a great head on him through a race.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Big Dream, ridden by G.M. Ryan, Magic Charm, ridden by M.W Hassett, Smaoineamh Sile (GB), ridden by D.P. McDonogh, Alqabeela, ridden by D.E. Sheehy, and Treble Cone (GB), ridden by J.A. Powell where it appeared that interference may have occured
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.E. Sheehy stated that he had to sit behind horses when waiting for a gap when it got tight for room. J.A. Powell stated that it got tight between runners in the straight. D.P
McDonogh stated that he was hanging under pressure and was carried right in the straight. G.A. Ryan stated that his mount was tiring when he rolled around under pressure. M.W. Hassett stated that he was carried right by Big Dream in the straight, but accepted that he moved right off heels. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found M.W. Hassett was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Smaoineamh Sile (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung all the way up the straight,was carried right and hampered
J.A. Powell, rider of Treble Cone (GB), trained by Gerard Keane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room one and a half furlongs out.
An extended handicap for four years old and upwards rated 47-65
