The horses are in great form. We made no secret that it would be Galway time before our better horses started to come out and that's the way it worked out. This is a lovely mare from a great family with a very loyal and patient owner and I'm just delighted she's went and won a bumper. She had plenty of experience and she showed that today. There's a few more in her, I'd say, and we're looking forward to her. She'll go over hurdles at some stage and she'll probably have a go on the Flat as well. Ciaran Murphy, trainer

S. O'Callaghan, rider of Next Question, trained by T.M. Walsh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped forward

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately three and a half furlongs from the finish involving Adela Icon, ridden by Mr A.P. Ryan, I Am Shadow, ridden by Mr H.C. Swan, and Sleep Sound, ridden by E.A

Fitzgerald where it appeared horses got tight for room on the bend. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned

Mr. A.P. Ryan stated that he followed French Milan when he got pressure from both sides and got shuffled back

Mr. H.C. Swan stated that he had dropped his mare out, when they get racing he keeps his racing line. E.A

Fitzgerald stated that he was following Mount Sinai, his mare was a little green but he keeps his racing line outside Mount Sinai when he got pressure from his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental and they took no further action

Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 6th August) may also ride in this race.
