The draw proved crucial here with high numbers dominating on the heavy ground, and Brave Falcon showed the benefit of a recent outing at Dundalk to get the better of seasonal debutant Faynita.

A first win for the son of Fasliyev, he indicated ability in similar conditions here last year and, together with mud-lover Faynita could strike again soon while the ground is favourable.

Fairyville went sharply right out of stalls and came home best of all to split the above pair. She is by the soft ground influence Orpen, and this was a run full of promise.

Munsters Call was bidding for a hat-trick this season and can be considered very unlucky to be drawn in stall one. He easily won the issue on the far side and, despite drifting right in the closing stages, was still only beaten about three lengths. A much improved sort this season following a year absence, this was another notable effort.

Desert Ben was much better suited by this distance after a couple of outings over a mile on the all-weather. He was up with the pace throughout in the centre of the course along with Marinebird, who dropped away a furlong out.

Nell's Girl quickly made up some lost ground at the start to hold every chance inside the final quarter mile, while Seen And Heard was very slowly away and in the circumstances did well to finish in mid-division..
