Charlie Deutsch, the rider of At A Pinch (GB), which finished sixth of nine, beaten by 14 ¼ lengths, was asked to explain his riding from after the last hurdle where the filly appeared to be tenderly ridden.
The Stewards interviewed Deutsch and viewed recordings of the race.
Deutsch explained his instructions were to drop in, get settled and take his time before asking his mount for its finishing effort.
He added that he felt that the filly was running more keenly than he would have liked due to the slow early pace of the race.
After jumping the last flight, Deutsch stated that he felt that At A Pinch (GB) had no more to give and would in his opinion, have appreciated an easier surface.
His explanation was noted.
