Glenmuir, acquired a first win in almost two-years here when sticking it out well for Aido McGuinness to score by a length and a quarter. Running off a mark of 59 here, he had obtained a career high mark of 86 across the water but his last win had come 20 pounds higher than today's rating.

The fact that the winner is owned by the Jack Syndicate, which is made up of family members of the winning rider Ian Brennan who is McGuinness' stable apprentice, that would suggest that he may be campaigned in a similar apprentice contest next time around and if progressing from this he may be capable of running a good race but he does look to be a bit of a tricky customer.

Lily Lavender set out to make all and although headed after the turn into the straight, the mare stayed on gamely to the line to her credit and on the basis of her last run at Dundalk, there should be a winning opportunity somewhere along the line for the five-year-old daughter of Rossini.

Desert Mirage is still looking for a first win and having failed to get in to contention in any of his last six runs, this placing will have surely showed connections some promise.

Emmet McNamara sent his mount Striking Force in search of a gap which was ultimately closed off fairly quick and McNamara then had to switch his mount wider and could only stay on to be fourth. With a bit more luck in running he certainly could have been closer.
