G.P. Brouder, rider of Grey Habit trained by P.Meany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount idled for the entire race and had to be kept

The Stewards interviewed G.P. Brouder, rider of Grey Habit, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence he stated that his mount was off the bridle most of the way and kept responding to his urgings. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that G.P. Brouder was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended G.P. Brouder for 2 racedays

An extended handicap hurdle for five years old and upwards rated 80-116
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
Riders - Confined to Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances - (which are not cumulative, up to and including 26th January) Riders who have not ridden the winners of 25 *races allowed...........4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 40 *races allowed..........2lb No allowance under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed *Including races under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing The Riders of the first three horses will receive €250, €150 and €100 respectively from the I.N.H.S. Committee
