Colm said he got in a muddle in the Curragh when he was drawn very wide and nothing went right for him and then he got a bump. He's only dossing there; as soon as he hits the front his ears are pricked and then the horses came and he goes again, then he thinks he's done enough. We'll probably step him up a mile-and-a-half and he'll make a nice staying horse for next year. We could look at the Naas November Handicap or the October Handicap at Leopardstown. The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final 150 yards involving Still Standing, ridden by C

O'Donoghue, placed first, Arthurian Fame, ridden by S.M. Crosse, dead heat for second place and New Direction, ridden by R.P. Cleary, dead heat for second place, where it appeared that Still Standing ducked to the left when being driven to the line. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. F. Birrane accompanied S.M. Crosse at this enquiry. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action

T.P. Madden, rider of Sheila's Hope trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left during this race
