An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong when Eagles Dare (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Tom Queally, interfered with Right Proud (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Eoin Walsh.
Queally was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right without sufficient correction causing Walsh to take a slight check.
The winner, DEVIL’S CLUB, appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 12 August 2020 where the colt finished fifth of thirteen, beaten by 10 lengths.
Tom Ward’s explanation that the colt benefitted from the step up in trip from 7f to 1m was noted.
Following the race, Rob Hornby reported that Cuban Fox (GB), placed third, stumbled round the bend.
