Permission was given for Dubai Elegance (GB) to go early to post.
The Veterinary Officer reported that upon inspection, Spring Romance (IRE) was grey and not bay as published in the race card.
Adam McNamara, the rider of Swissal (IRE), placed third, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post to finish third, beaten a head for second place.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, McNamara explained that Swissal (IRE) hung left on the home bend, a fact which he had reported at scales.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
After being further interviewed, the Stewards found that the rider's report of hanging on the home bend had no relevance to the ride given to Swissal (IRE) in the straight and particularly approaching the line.
McNamara was suspended for 7 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished second.
