Permission was given for Queen For You (IRE) and Tahiyra (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching 1 furlong out involving the winner, Tahiyra (IRE), ridden by Chris Hayes, Sounds Of Heaven (GB), placed third, ridden by R P Whelan, and Remarquee (GB), placed second, ridden by Rob Hornby.
The Stewards having given regard to how Tahiyra (IRE) was travelling in relation to Remarquee (GB) leading up to the incident, the winning distance of 1 length and the degree of movement by Sounds Of Heaven (GB) in relation to Tahiyra (IRE), considered the interference had not improved the placing of Tahiyra (IRE) and ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as Tahiyra (IRE) edged marginally right-handed as Sounds Of Heaven (GB) shifted left-handed despite Whelan’s best efforts, resulting in Remarquee (GB) becoming short for room and Hornby having to steady the filly.
Following the race, R P Whelan reported that Sounds Of Heaven (GB), placed third, hung left-handed under pressure and the Veterinary Officer reported that Remarquee (GB), placed second, had lost its left fore shoe.
